Frequently asked questions
Treatment
Can I apply a B/S brace without prior training?

Yes, you can apply the B/S brace without prior training, as it does not penetrate the nail body and is only applied to the nail plate. However, we offer training videos for the various systems, such as Classic, Magnet, Magnet+, and Quick, as well as free instructions on our website.

Expertise
How much can I charge for a B/S brace application?

You can charge the same amount for an application as for a traditional pedicure.

Expertise
Can the B/S brace also be used for very small nails that are shorter than the brace itself?

If size 14 is still too long for the nail plate, it can be individually trimmed. Since the Classic system uses a steel applicator, precise placement is maintained even after trimming.

Please note: Because each brace size has a precisely matched material thickness, a shortened brace automatically becomes stiffer. To prevent the restoring force from being too high for a smaller nail, the brace's thickness must be reduced. After shortening, carefully thin the material on the rough adhesive side with a milling cutter. This restores the necessary flexibility to the brace, allowing it to transfer tension gently and controllably.

Treatment
Can the B/S brace also be used on children's nails?

Yes, a B/S brace can be used for correction in children from about 6 years old.

At this age, children generally have sufficient expressive abilities to reliably assess their own pain levels.

This is crucial for the treatment, so the child can communicate whether the applied brace feels uncomfortable or if the tension needs to be readjusted.

Treatment
Can the B/S brace be applied to fingernails?

You can apply the B/S brace to fingernails.

Please note that you must file the brace much thinner than for toenails.

Medical Foot Care vs. Cosmetic Foot Care

Cosmetic foot care (e.g., pedicure) is for the aesthetic and caring treatment of healthy feet – such as nail trimming, callus removal, or massages. It is a cosmetic service without medical claim.

Podiatry (medical foot care) however, is a legally protected healthcare profession under the Podiatrists Act (PodG).

Podiatrists are state-certified, have several years of training, and treat diseased or at-risk feet.

This clearly distinguishes medical foot care from cosmetic foot care.
