Frequently asked questions
Treatment
Will the patient experience pain during treatment with the B/S brace? Will it hurt?

No, don't worry! The application is pain-free, as nothing is pushed into the sensitive lateral nail fold.

After the treatment, a slight pulling pain might occur if the restorative forces of the B/S brace are too strong.

This must be promptly corrected by the treating specialist. The patient should not feel the brace on the nail.

Treatment
How long does the B/S brace maintain its corrective tension?

The B/S brace exerts its full corrective power over approximately four weeks.

The B/S brace should be replaced every four weeks until the nail has achieved its healthy, flat shape.

Care
What should the patient consider before brace treatment?

· No foot baths

· No wet sanding

· No nail polish removers

· No application of oils and lotions

· No disinfectants

Regulation
What can the patient do after a B/S brace treatment?

The B/S brace has been developed for maximum durability in everyday life.

Immediately after application, the patient enjoys complete freedom for all activities:

· Water & Wellness: Bathing, swimming, and relaxing foot baths are possible without restriction.

· Sports & Activity: The brace remains absolutely secure and firm even during intense physical activity.

· Care & Aesthetics: The use of foot creams or oils is easily possible. Nail polish can also be applied and removed as usual.

· Professional Routine: The usual professional foot care can be continued without interruption.

Care
What should the patient keep in mind after B/S brace treatment?

If the patient experiences discomfort or pain, they should contact their treating specialist.

Expertise
Why doesn't the B/S brace stick?

The adhesion of the B/S brace can be compromised for various reasons:

Slipping and repeated correction during application: Repeated slipping and readjustment during application weakens the adhesive bond. Precise positioning is therefore crucial. Support yourself on the patient's foot.

Expired B/S adhesive: If the B/S adhesive has expired (after 9 months), we recommend purchasing new adhesive, as expired adhesive loses its effectiveness. The batch number on the cap indicates the expiration date.

Example: Batch number 1025, Expiration date: October 2025. Tip! Freeze the adhesive! Storing the adhesive in the freezer extends its shelf life. Always use the adhesive at room temperature (21-24 degrees).

Too little B/S adhesive used: An insufficient amount of B/S adhesive can prevent the brace from adhering properly.

Make sure you use enough adhesive.

Insufficient sanding of the brace ends: If the tension of the brace is too strong after application, simply sand both ends of the brace carefully to make them thinner. If necessary, sand the entire brace thinner. Precise correction at the ends of the brace prevents it from lifting off the nail. Your advantage: The brace ends are corrected directly on the nail.

Using too much B/S Cleaner: Using too much B/S Cleaner when cleaning the nail can impair adhesion. A single drop on the swab is sufficient to clean the nail plate.

Diseased Nails: B/S braces should not be applied to diseased nails, such as in cases of fungal infections, psoriasis, onycholysis, etc.

Drying out of Bottle Contents/Stringing: The B/S adhesive can lose its effectiveness if it comes into contact with the B/S Activator (quick dryer) and becomes stringy.
